The Lenton Centre, which includes a pool and gym, is urgently seeking a cash injection of £30,000 to prevent its closure.

The recent removal of the discretionary charity rates relief by the council has exacerbated the centre’s financial woes.
For nearly 20 years the centre has provided a variety of services including fitness classes, community events, and recreational activities, but it now faces an imminent threat of closure.
Miriam Pearman, Managing Director at the Lenton Centre, said: “We offer essential services and a place for people to connect, stay fit, and engage in various activities.

Given its precarious financial situation, the centre is appealing to the local community, businesses and supporters to help raise the necessary funds.
A spokesperson for the Lenton Centre said that even with the needed cash injection, an unavoidable round of redundancies will occur in the short term.
A JustGiving page has been set-up so that members of the public can donate to the centre’s appeal.
As of Monday, June 24, the page has raised £3,618 of its £30,000 target.
You can donate to the appeal by pressing here.
