The business, which already has restaurants in Loughborough and Leicester, was founded in 2013.

According to planning documents, the Grade II listed building was built in 1836 and sits within the Old Market Square Conservation Area.

Social media posts by the Peter Pizzeria have revealed that the new restaurant will open in August, with renovation work well underway.

Diners at the new restaurant can expect pizza made with fresh dough and ingredients sourced from Italy.

The menu consists of 12 different pizzas alongside alternatives such as fresh salads.
