Loads of pubs are showing Euro 2024 matches in Nottingham - and the pints aren’t a bad price

If there’s one thing we know how to do in Nottingham, it’s celebrate with a pint - especially if we’re celebrating a football win.

That’s why Nottingham has been named one of the best places in the UK to watch the EURO 2024 games at the pub.

UK Debt Expert conducted the analysis, ranking cities by the number of pubs showing football and the price of a pint of lager.

Newcastle was the highest-ranking city - above Nottingham, Glasgow, Brighton and Bristol - with 114 football-friendly pubs within two miles of the city centre and an average pint costing £4.25.

Nottingham scored well for the price of a pint - with a lager costing an average of £4.46 in the city’s pubs.

The city also scored highly for the number of football-friendly pubs, with 64 venues within two miles of the city centre, almost four pubs per 10,000 fans.

Ahead of the first game of the tournament kicking off last Friday, towns and cities across the country are seeing dedicated fan zones set up and pubs are preparing for a massive increase in footfall.

The British Beer & Pub Association has revealed that 300 million pints could be sold across the hospitality sector over the course of the tournament.

Rock City will be hosting a fan park for the tournament - showing every England game on the biggest screen in the East Midlands. Another fan zone will be opening at The Level, on Shakespeare Street.

Commenting on the data, Maxine McCreadie, a personal finance specialist at UK Debt Expert, said: “Hundreds of thousands of Brits will be making the trip over to Germany for the tournament, but pubs and dedicated fan zones will offer an amazing atmosphere to take in the games and England fans will be hoping for a month-long festival of football, culminating in a victory for the Three Lions.

“Our analysis has highlighted the broad range of options for fans - whichever team they are supporting, with people in Nottingham benefitting from dozens of great venues to watch the games.”
