Each year the Heritage Open Days festival brings together thousands of organisations and volunteers across the country to celebrate what makes the county’s towns and villages special.
In Nottingham and Nottinghamshire venues will throw open their doors to welcome residents and give them the chance to visit hidden places and try new experiences - and it is all free between September 8 and 17.
Liam Montgomery, Heritage Open Days marketing and projects manager said: “Whether it’s art, music or writing, creativity moves us and shapes our history and culture.
“We’re excited to put the spotlight on the people and places who give England’s heritage the X-factor and inspire festival-goers to engage with thousands of years of creativity.”
