Knowledgeable rangers will help visitors identify wildlife and flowers around the park as spring arrives.

The walk has been organised by Nottingham City Council’s Parks and Open Spaces department and is intended to help people maintain their physical and mental health.

Nottingham’s oldest public park, the Arboretum was opened in May 1852 and many of the original trees remain in situ today.

The park is widely said to have been the inspiration for J.M. Barrie’s Neverland, where Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Tinker Bell live.

Those on the wellbeing walk can see for themselves from where the inspiration came from and decide if Neverland did plant its magical roots in Nottingham

The tour will take place between 10.30am and 12pm on March 22, with participants asked to meet at the Arboretum bandstand.
