A former Nottingham train station is to host a paranormal investigation next month.

Ghost hunters are to descend up on Gedling Railway Station on March 24 for an evening of ouija boards and table tipping.

The event has been organised by Circle of Friends Paranormal, which runs ghost-hunts across the country.

The former railway station was built during the Victorian era to serve Gedling and Carlton, ultimately closing in 1960.

After opening in 1874, the station was used primarily by passengers travelling west into the city centre or east to Skegness and later served a nearby colliery.

The station is currently owned by a community group who intend to turn the building into a youth club.

Organisers of the paranormal investigation say: “Gedling station has gained a reputation to be haunted though, with shadows being seen and people sensing that they have been followed through the station when no-one is actually there.”

Tickets are £25 and can be purchased here.
