Nottingham old photos: 10 nostalgic photos show the Nottingham pubs we’ve loved and lost over the years

How many of these did you used to drink in?

Many of us spent far too much time in pubs in our younger years, but memories of those days last a lifetime.

Pubs have always been a great place to meet up with friends or unwind after a long day at work, particularly in the days before the internet.

With historic boozers like the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem and Ye Olde Salutation Inn, Nottingham has always had a thriving pub scene.

There are currently more than 200 pubs in Nottingham, but if you hopped in a time machine and returned to the 1970s and 1980s you’d find hundreds more.

It’s estimated that the UK has lost 6% of its pubs over the past six years, with more than 500 watering holes closing in 2023 alone.

In a time of rising energy bills and less disposable income for punters to spend, pubs up and down the country have been struggling to survive.

We’ve taken a trip down memory lane and picked out photos of 10 popular Nottingham pubs that the city has lost over the years.

How many of these did you used to drink in?
