James Corden confirms ‘last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey’ will air later this year

James Corden has confirmed that the “last ever episode” of Gavin and Stacey will air on Christmas Day.

In an Instagram post, Corden said: “Some news… It’s official!

“We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey.

“See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James.”

In the post, Corden and co-writer Ruth Jones can be seen holding the script.

The last episode, on Christmas Day 2019, left fans wondering whether Smithy would accept Nessa’s marriage proposal.

Since the first series aired in 2007, the show has gone on to become one of the BBC’s biggest successes.

It stars Nottinghamshire-born actor Mathew Horne, who plays Gavin.
