Hundreds expected for Esports Finals taking place at Nottingham Confetti X

Top Esport teams from the UK and Ireland are travelling to Nottingham to compete in the Spring 2023 season of the Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports as it reaches the finale.

Hundreds of university esports teams have taken part weekly in online tournatments to showcase their skills and test themselves in an organised play setting.

The Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports UK and Ireland Spring Finals will take place live at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies newly-opened esports complex, Confetti X, part of Nottingham Trent University. The event features more than 1000 students from more than 100 universities participating in the event on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23.

The final will also showcase a new tournament for Women and Non-Binary people grand final which is the first of it’s kind in the UK. The competition will feature top esports titles League of Legends and VALORANT. There will also be European qualification on the line with the finalists of the Open League of Legends and VALORANT tournaments competing for a chance to represent Great Britain in the Last Chance Qualifier of the prestigious Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports Masters in May.

Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports Masters is a continental competition where university students represent their country to become European champions. The 7th edition of the competition will feature 21 players representing more than 680 universities.

In addition to providing students with a great experience of competitive play in a state-of-the-art venue, NUEL and GGTech will also be partnering with Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies to facilitate education and real-world experiences behind the scenes, for students from multiple courses.

The event will also see the conclusion of the Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports UK and Ireland Spring Split Leaderboard, in which every competing team across the tournaments can contribute to their university ranking through wins in Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports tournaments.
