Sometimes at Nottingham World, we like to let our imaginations run wild.
You’ve seen it before when we compared Nottingham celebrities to Jellycats and you’re about to see it again, so brace yourselves.
Imagine a world, where Robin Hood is still alive. The handsome outlaw is still running riot across Nottingham and he is one of the city’s best-loved celebrities.
(Are you still with us?) Now imagine, where he’d like to hang out.
Just think of the headlines:
- Robin Hood and Maid Marian spotted on date at Hockley Arts Club
- Robin Hood challenges students to tennis tournament at local sports centre
- It’s raining Merry Men! Robin Hood and gang dazzle punters with karaoke
It’s a pretty good image isn’t it?
So we decided to put together a list of places we think the outlandish outlaw would love in Nottingham if he were around today.
Have we missed anywhere off the list? Let us know in the comments below.
![We don't know how to explain it but we just know Robin Hood would love to hang out at Penny Lane. He and Little John would go head to head at air hockey, and his band of Merry Men would be sinking pints like there is no tomorrow.](https://www.thestar.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOmQ5ZjAxM2JjLTUwYTMtNGEzYy05MmRhLTNiZjc3ODRjMGM1Zjo1MmIyNTdlZS1jMmI1LTRjZWMtOGJjZS0yNzQ3ZDMyMmE5MjI=.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=800)

2. Malt Cross
It makes perfect sense that Robin Hood would hang out at the Malt Cross. We're not sure if it's the dark wood panels or the tasty food that would have him hooked. We do know he's be up at that piano at Christmastime leading the carols. | Malt Cross / Instagram
![Cobden Chambers is one of Nottingham's best-hidden gems. We can definitely imagine Robin Hood impressing Maid Marian with a day date here. Together they could shop, grab a bite to eat and the best bit is, the uncool Sheriff wouldn't have a clue it existed, even if it would be right under his nose!](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2024/06/13/11/11/Cobden_Chambers%2C_Pelham_Street_-_geograph.org.uk_-_6109986.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=640)

![While it's unlikely Robin would be a student at either university, he would definitely love to sneak into the Jubilee Sports Centre and give the students a run for their money. We can imagine him challenging them to rounds of tennis or competitions on the rowing machine. He'd probably be kicked out when he whacked out the bow and arrow though...](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2024/06/18/10/01/Jubilee_Campus_MMB_%C2%AB27_Sports_Centre.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=640)
