A roast from Toby Carvery, Brewers Fayre or Greene King will cost you more in Nottingham than in London

On a cold Sunday, nothing beats a warming, hearty roast dinner. Whether you like beef, chicken, pork, or lamb or with or without cauliflower cheese, there's a reason why the roast has become an icon of the British culinary scene.

But with all things these days, a good roast doesn't come cheap, especially, it seems, if you live in Nottingham.

Data released by Betway has shown that our city is one of the most expensive in the country to buy a roast from Toby Carvery, Greene King or Brewers Fayre. Luckily, we have plenty of lovely independent pubs and restaurants in Nottingham serving delicious Sunday roasts too.

According to the data, the average cost of a weekend roast (from one of the aforementioned chains) in Nottingham is £12.41 - making it more expensive than the likes of Manchester, York, Liverpool, Leeds, and even *gasps* London.

Apparently, Wolverhampton is the cheapest city to buy a roast, followed by Glasgow, Newcastle, Stoke, and Aberdeen.
