Hopkinson: Inside Nottingham's ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ café full of weird antiques and retro games

This cafe is a real ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ filled with everything from Pokémon cards to cake

It’s no secret that Nottingham has got an absolutely thriving food and drink scene.

Whether you’re looking for a swanky Michelin star restaurant to celebrate a special occasion or a rough and ready greasy spoon to cure a hangover, our city really has something for everyone.

Here at Nottingham World we do our very best to showcase the city’s top foodie (and drinkie) spots so that you, our readers, can try them for yourself.

The beauty of Nottingham’s food scene is that you’ll never run out of places to try.

Even if you’re a true restaurant or café connoisseur, you’ll always come across interesting new spots to visit.

With summer now in full swing, many of us will be looking for new cafes to enjoy a refreshing drink in the sunshine (or, perhaps more likely, a coffee indoors while sheltering from the rain).

If you’re up for trying somewhere a bit different on your next trip into the city centre, look no further than Hopkinson.

Located right next to the train station, it’s fair to say Hopkinson isn’t your typical café.

Behind the café itself, though under the same roof, are thousands of weird and wonderful antiques and vintage items.

From Pokémon cards and retro cameras to jewellery and even a life-size model of E.T., the quirky café is bursting at the seams with unique collectables.

Oh, and the café also offers cocktails and beer, should you need any additional incentive to pay it a visit.

Scroll down to see more of this quirky café that’s definitely worth a visit!
